Fujitsu Renames Products
Optical equipment renamed under "Flashwave" brand and given logical numbering system

Fujitsu Network Communications, Inc. today launched a product renaming initiative that repositions its products to reflect the company's recent substantial product innovations, simplify customer inventory management and product identification, and better position the products for the future. This initiative will place Fujitsu's wide range of optical networking systems under the FLASHWAVE® brand name.
The following short descriptions highlight the products in the FLASHWAVE 4000 series:
FLASHWAVE 4100, formerly FLASH150 ADX, is a multiservice optical transport system delivering data and TDM services at the price and footprint required for efficient edge deployment.
FLASHWAVE 4300, formerly FLASH600 ADX, offers a scalable, flexible multiservice optical transport platform for access ring aggregation and network grooming. Any-port-to-any-port STS and VT connectivity plus built-in test access delivers true cross-connect capabilities.
FLASHWAVE 4500, formerly FLASH2400 ADX, provides a quantum leap in network efficiency with a carrier class multiservice optical transport platform optimized for metro core and IOF applications. It offers advanced next generation functionality and simultaneous support for TDM, Ethernet and DWDM transport over a broad range of network architectures on a single platform.
FLASHWAVE 7000 product family delivers regional, long haul and ultra long haul, high capacity DWDM solutions and comprises Fujitsu's all optical products offerings. It includes:FLASHWAVE 7100, formerly FLASHWAVE Metro, is a metro WDM passive fiber-relief solution
FLASHWAVE 7200, formerly FLASHWAVE TPR/TRPN, is a tunable optical transponder
FLASHWAVE 7300, formerly FLASHWAVE OWS, is a tunable optical wrapper transponder platform
FLASHWAVE 7600, formerly FLASHWAVE 320G, is a regional long haul DWDM platform
FLASHWAVE 7700, formerly FLASHWAVE OADX, is a 176 channel, 10Gbps ultra long haul Dense Wave Division Multiplexing platform that delivers the highest capacity commercially available today.
Using a logical and sequential numbering system, the new FLASHWAVE names simplify inventory management for Fujitsu customers, as no two product numbers are the same. The four-digit number following the FLASHWAVE brand indicates which product family each system belongs. Within each family, customers seeking long haul, inter-office or metro solutions can identify which product series will fulfill their optical networking needs.
