Fibernet Gets Customers

LONDON -- Fibernet Group plc, the high-speed data communications company, today announced that it has signed up the first eight customers for its Frankfurt Carrier Ring, which was completed on schedule in August. Companies that have signed up to use the ring are, Carrier1, Global Network Telephone, IDT, Interoute, Median Telecom, Storm, Swisscom and Tele2.A further ten companies have already formalised their intention to join and are expected to become customers in the next quarter. Charles McGregor, Chief Executive of Fibernet Group plc commented: "These first eight customers together with the number of additional carriers that have also expressed their intention to join the Frankfurt Carrier Ring at such an early stage in its development are proof positive that the London Carrier Ring concept is portable to other territories and will be as successful for Fibernet in Germany as it has been in the UK."
