BURLINGTON, Mass., and BASKING RIDGE, N.J. -- Acme Packet(R) (NASDAQ:APKT) , the leader in session border control solutions, and Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless service provider, announced today that Acme Packet's Net-Net(R) session border controllers (SBCs) are delivering secure and seamless network services for the Verizon Hub and its users. Available now from Verizon Wireless, the Verizon Hub is an easy-to-use system that puts a communications command center in the home. It bridges wireline and wireless connectivity and runs on any broadband connection -- whether supplied by Verizon (FiOS Internet or DSL) or any other high-speed Internet service provider.

The Verizon Hub gives busy families information at their fingertips from an easy-to-navigate touch screen with on-demand access to an array of services. Acme Packet's session border controllers provide Verizon Wireless with a secure border, ensuring reliable voice service on the Verizon Hub. Using a proven hosted NAT traversal capability, the Net-Net SBCs allow for an easy and seamless installation of the Verizon Hub by its users. The Net-Net SBCs also help maintain a secure environment and help connect to other service providers, including e911 providers, enabling Verizon Hub customers to have full access to emergency services from their home.

"Acme Packet enables Verizon Wireless to deliver secure services with high quality and seamless interoperability," said Seamus Hourihan, Acme Packet's vice president of marketing and product management. "Customers can deploy the Verizon Hub in a non-disruptive fashion and be confident in the security and integrity of communications."
