MetaSwitch Eyes CALA

ALAMEDA, Calif. -- MetaSwitch, a leading vendor of next-generation carrier switching and application solutions, today announced several product and organizational initiatives that further demonstrate its commitment to the Caribbean and the Latin American (CALA) telecommunications market.

To extend its success in North America into additional markets, MetaSwitch has adapted its widely deployed VoIP technology to the ETSI standards used by service providers in the CALA region. This capability provides service providers who seek to roll out next generation telecommunications services a highly-reliable, field-proven, voice switching platform designed to work in their local environment.

To further develop relationships and customers in the region, MetaSwitch has recruited industry veteran, Robert Kiely as CALA Region Managing Director. He brings 20 years of international experience in telecommunications to MetaSwitch. Kiely’s most recent position was vice president of international sales, Latin America, at a large provider of session border controllers, where he worked closely with major telecommunications service providers, wireless operators, cable MSOs and DSL providers, as well as sales channel partners and systems integrators. His prior experience in Latin America and Europe includes roles with AT&T, Alcatel and Lucent. Kiely is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
