DUBLIN -- Irish company Tsunami Photonics Ltd. is to exhibit at ECOC 2002, Europe's largest optical communication conference and exhibition, from 9th-11th September at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark.Specialists in rapid test systems for photonic components, Tsunami Photonics announces a number of exciting new innovations in its CLose-GridTM laser test product.CLose-GridTM 2.0 is now available as a hardware agnostic software suite for Production Screening, Characterization and Analysis of Tunable Diode Lasers. Uniquely in laser characterization systems, customers can now enjoy true test platform independence as CLose-GridTM 2.0 may now be deployed on commercially available test instruments including next generation high-speed test platforms. In addition CLose-GridTM 2.0 now provides quantitative analysis of laser performance. This feature significantly improves the accuracy of the laser manufacturer's test procedure leading to improved yields from the production processUltan O'Raghallaigh, Chief Executive Officer, Tsunami Photonics, comments, "ECOC 2002 provides us with the ideal opportunity to unveil Version 2 of the CLose-GridTM product suite, due to the audience it attracts. Following eighteen months of product development work, we are excited about the deployment of this product, which will significantly improve the economics of manufacture."In a separate release:Tsunami Photonics (www.tsunamiphotonics.com) specialists in fast test systems software forphotonic components, and PX Instrument Technology (www.pxit.com), a manufacturer of PXIbased modular test systems, today announced the availability of their respective software andhardware products as a complete and integrated solution for laser diode manufacturers.Tsunami Photonics recently announced availability of CLose-Grid™ 2.0 as a hardware agnosticSoftware suite for Production Screening, Characterization and Analysis of Diode Lasers. Due tomarket demand, Tsunami Photonics will integrate its software suite with suitable hardware from arange of Test & Measurement equipment suppliers. The integration with PXIT's PX2000 SeriesHigh speed current source and power meter modules is the first implementation of this approach.Tsunami Photonics CEO Ultan O'Raghallaigh stated: "Providing CLose-Grid™ as a hardwareagnostic solution but at the same time offering the alternative of a bundled solution with industrystandard hardware gives the customer important choices. They can protect existing hardwareinvestments while at the same time avail of a complete turnkey solution. This approach alsoenables an open choice in relation to future hardware investment. We will be announcing similarco-operation with other hardware vendors going forward."PXIT CEO Darach Kelly said: “PXIT’s modular photonic instrumentation technology represents anideal system platform for high speed laser characterisation software such as Tsunami’s CLose-Grid™ product. The combination of our high-speed instruments, embedded sequence enginetechnology and PXI modular architecture offer the flexibility and scalability required to reduce thecost of test in automated environments.”Tsunami Photonics Ltd.
