SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Tasman Networks, a leading provider of intelligent, multi-service access routers for the service provider, OEM and enterprise markets, today announced the Tasman 1001 entry-level WAN access router and security device for customers requiring a high-performance, feature-rich solution at a cost-effective price point. The product takes advantage of key new features of the company's enhanced operating system that was also announced today. These features include multicast routing, IPSec VPN, stateful firewall and an integrated easy-to-use Web-based graphical user interface (GUI).

"Tasman Networks has addressed an important market need by integrating high-end features into its entry-level products," said Michael Kennedy, of Network Strategy Partners, a management-consulting firm. "Small businesses that do not have dedicated IT departments, or large enterprises that want to cost-effectively deploy advanced services across their environment, can now enjoy better network performance and security at an affordable price."

Said Joel Kappes, vice president of sales for Milestone Networks, an IT solutions provider, "We evaluated a number of solutions before selecting Tasman routers for several customer implementations. We found that Tasman products had an excellent reputation. And indeed they worked as promised right from the start."
