TORONTO -- Bell Canada today announced the successful deployment of NetProvisionT, a software solution from Syndesis that offers 'Service-on-Demand' provisioning to Bell IP VPN Enterprise (IP VPNE) customers. In a matter of minutes, Bell IP VPNE customers are now able to order and receive additional bandwidth and select from three classes of service, paying only for bandwidth they need when they use it. The three classes of service available to Bell IP VPNE customers are: 'standard' for email, web access and other non-critical applications; 'priority' for mission critical applications such as SAP or web traffic to support a critical application; and 'near-real-time' for voice over IP, video conferencing or other performance-sensitive applications. Through a secure Web portal, customers on Bell's virtual private network (VPN) service can also specify and modify the type of application traffic - either voice, video or data - that is assigned to a particular class of service. "With bandwidth-on-demand technology, getting more bandwidth for a video conference call or to send data is like turning the tap on your faucet," said Michael Cole, vice-president, Data Networks, Bell Canada. "Bell IP VPN Enterprise customers now have more control over their network to order additional bandwidth that is delivered almost instantly. Using the secure online access, customers can also decide how their data traffic is treated. For example, at the click of a button, a company can instantly increase its bandwidth for just the duration of a video conference and save the time and cost of a face-to-face meeting." Syndesis Ltd.
