Siemens Gets O2 Contract

O2 awards Siemens Business Services a 5-year contract to provide support for computer workstations and telephone terminals

MUNICH -- The telecommunications company O2 has awarded Siemens Business Services a five-year contract worth millions of euros and covering the provision of support for some 3000 of their PCs and laptops, as well as desktop servers and some of the application servers. In addition, the Siemens Group will be responsible for around 4500 fixed-network telephones. The order is valid for the O2 headquarters in Munich as well as over 100 O2 shops throughout Germany.

Under the terms of the contract, Siemens Business Services will deliver all services re-lated to computer workstations - from the installation and debugging of the hardware and software, to user support and the operation of the corresponding desktop servers and LAN lines, right through to disposal of the devices.

On top of this, in the context of telecommunications outsourcing, the Siemens Group will provide support for the operation and configuration of 4500 telephone terminals and the corresponding Siemens switching systems.
