WESTBOROUGH, Mass. -- Pactolus Communications Software Corporation, a leading provider of SIP-based IP voice services, today introduced RapidFLEX CallComplete™ software that can restore calls inadvertently interrupted on a RapidFLEX Application Server due to hardware or software failures. This call protection capability works using 1:1 server redundancy in concert with RapidFLEX software N+1 redundancy schemes and failover mechanisms. This ensures that SIPware™ Services stay running without subscriber intervention and maintain maximum system capacity.

These commercially proven, ready-to-deploy, class 4/5 services currently include primary line broadband telephony (VoIP), audio conferencing, calling card, and voice messaging. Custom services developed by service providers using the RapdFLEX Service Creation Environment can also take advantage of this capability.

CallComplete software enables call session state information on the RapidFLEX Application Server to be recovered, allowing the audio portion of the calls to continue uninterrupted and consistent billing data to be generated. For audio conferencing specifically, the state of the conference is also saved and then restored in the event of a failure so that conference participants do not have to log back into the conference. A key additional capability is geographic site failover for large multi-site deployments of SIPware Services.

“Pactolus has been shipping its RapidFLEX Application Server and its suite of SIPware applications for four years in high availability configurations, running tens of thousands concurrent voice calls at a single site,” said Dave Horton, President, CTO, and founder of Pactolus. “With the introduction of RapidFLEX CallComplete, service providers can deploy IP voice services that achieve continuous availability without paying the premium for a hardware based fault tolerant solution.”
