ALAMEDA, Calif. -- MetaSwitch today announced that Missouri Telecom has installed the MetaSwitch VP3500 Next Generation Class 5 Switch for this week's launch of its new residential and business services in Southwest Missouri. Missouri Telecom is offering a full range of residential and business voice services including IP Centrex, to complement its highly successful broadband and dial-up Internet service offerings.

"Over the past few years we tested several next-generation switches but never found the right combination of technology and stability that we needed to launch our voice services," said Kevin Wormington, VP-Operations. "With MetaSwitch we found both. We are now delivering carrier-grade voice services over our packet based network using proven, reliable technology. And we know that MetaSwitch, a division of Data Connection, will be here for us in the long term."

"Missouri Telecom is now able to bring even greater value to their existing base of customers as well as go after new customers across the state," said Bob Harvey, MetaSwitch Regional Manager. "With their strong track record of providing both a reliable and high quality data service, Missouri Telecom will be able to quickly increase their current revenue stream with a voice service. At the same time, they will be attracting new customers with advanced service offerings including IP Centrex and web based self-provisioning."
