AMSTERDAM -- KPN and iPass Inc. (Nasdaq: IPAS) today announced that iPass enterprise customers can now make full use of KPN’s extensive Wi-Fi network across the Netherlands.

KPN now manages over 700 HotSpots across the Netherlands, including key business and travel venues such as the Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, NS railway stations, Jaarbeurs Utrecht Conference Centre, Total petrol stations, hotels including Van der Valk Hotels and Campanile Hotels, La Place restaurants and recreational locations such as Landal GreenParks.

iPass customers now have access to a significant Wi-Fi footprint in the Netherlands, in addition to an ever-expanding global network of over 50,000 iPass-enabled broadband access points across 67 countries. The agreement with KPN comes as iPass significantly increases the scale of its operations in the Benelux region, with the further expansion of the local sales team.

Ardjan Konijnenberg, General Manager of KPN Hotspots, commented: “Secure access to broadband wireless networks for business travellers is a cornerstone of KPN’s strategy for the coming years. In the last six months alone, we have substantially grown the number of KPN HotSpots in the Netherlands from 300 to 700 HotSpots, and further expansion is planned for the rest of 2006. Enabling our HotSpots for the iPass Global Broadband Roaming service provides secure, seamless access to KPN’s HotSpots for domestic and international iPass customers traveling through the Netherlands.”

The KPN HotSpot network has been certified as iPass Enterprise-Ready, and is available to iPass customers via the iPassConnect™ single interface client. To achieve this certification, the network had to pass stringent tests on service availability and interoperability with policy and security tools, including a comprehensive range of Virtual Private Networks, personal firewalls and anti-virus software.

iPass customers can now use any of KPN’s HotSpots and enjoy secure, high-speed access to corporate data and applications, with the benefit of a single consolidated invoice based on per-minute billing.

René Hendrikse, Managing Director, Northern Europe for iPass said: “Enterprise users expect to have high quality, high speed access to corporate data no matter where they are – in the office, at home or on the road. Enterprise IT teams are tasked with making sure that employees always have the most secure, robust and cost-efficient access to corporate networks. This agreement with KPN is expected to bring these two requirements together and makes it possible for any iPass customer to communicate securely and cost-effectively from hundreds of different locations across the Netherlands.”
