Huawei Wins Brazil Contract

Huawei Technologies announced that Huawei has signed a contract with Intelig Telecom to build the metropolitan network in Rio de Janeiro

RIO DE JANEIRO -- Huawei Technologies, a global provider of telecoms infrastructure, announced that Huawei has signed a contract with Intelig Telecom, the leading corporate market and the second largest long distance operator in Brazil, to build the metropolitan network in Rio de Janeiro and the national backbone to connect Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Campinas and Belo Horizonte.

With the objective of meeting the current demand of services of data, voice and video, Intelig Telecom has just acquired a system with capacity of 10G from Huawei Technologies. This system is going to be installed in Rio de Janeiro Metropolitan Network and will increase 4 times the current capacity.

The equipment used in this 10G system is part of NG SDH (Next Generation SDH) family of Huawei. This technology is the most advanced of this kind of system, presenting a great flexibility of configuration for new customers and make possible the usage of a great variety of interfaces, such as Ethernet interfaces (Fast Ethernet and Giga Ethernet.

In accordance with Transmission and Access Engineering Manager of this company, Luís Otávio Silva, with the network expansion, “Based on MSPP (Multi-service Provisioning Platform) Intelig Telecom has conditions to increase its customer portfolio and services in Rio de Janeiro, with the high quality, reliability and readiness demanded by our customers."
