FORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC) today announced the appointment of new leadership for its global enterprise sales and collaboration services team, as the company continues its focus on delivering converged communications services leveraging its unique global footprint. These new leaders add further industry expertise to the company's strong enterprise sales teams as they build on their momentum from 2005, including contract wins with ASG, the British Council, Delta Air Lines and the Forestry Commission, among others.

Effective immediately, Michael Toplisek has been appointed senior vice president for global enterprise and collaboration services, while Niall Anderson, Wilfried Roettgers and Julie Masino take on sales leadership roles as regional vice presidents for the United Kingdom, continental Europe and the central region of North America, respectively. All four bring distinguished backgrounds in telecommunications and sales to Global Crossing's enterprise and collaboration services businesses.

"Today's appointments underscore our commitment to energize and build our direct sales channels as demand from enterprises for high-quality IP services grows," said John Legere, Global Crossing's chief executive officer. "As we build on our recent successes and seek to grow our business, these leaders will enable the enterprise sales force to serve our core market of enterprise and collaboration services customers with even greater success."

After nine years as a key member of Global Crossing's enterprise sales team leading the central region of North America, Mr. Toplisek will take on oversight of the company's enterprise sales and collaboration services globally. Mr. Toplisek has more than twelve years' experience in telecommunications, and has successfully developed relationships with customers including ASG, Delta Air Lines and the Mayo Foundation, among others, during his tenure at Global Crossing. Previously, Mr. Toplisek held various sales and management positions at MCI.

"Global Crossing has a strong group of leaders within each sales organization," continued Mr. Legere. "Mike's successes in the central region prove his commitment to customers and to Global Crossing, and I expect his expanded role will strengthen our sales operations around the world."

Global Crossing's regional vice presidents, as well as the leaders of global collaboration services and partnership development teams, will report to Mr. Toplisek. To bolster the company's sales resources in Europe, Mr. Toplisek has appointed separate leaders for the UK and continental marketplaces.

Niall Anderson, who joins Global Crossing as regional vice president for UK enterprise sales, will focus his efforts on developing Global Crossing UK's strong presence in this extremely competitive market, building on the successful government and rail sectors and expanding the new business market. He was most recently the head of sales for the UK and Ireland at Equant.

As the new regional vice president for continental Europe, Wilfried Roettgers will develop Global Crossing's direct enterprise sales channel in the region, executing the company's long-term strategy to serve multinational enterprises with converged IP services. He brings more than 15 years' experience in the telecommunications industry to the company, including his most recent successes as vice president in charge of national markets in northern Europe for MCI.

Within North America, the enterprise and collaboration services team will also realign its resources to reflect customer adoption of converged services. Neil Barua, regional vice president for the eastern region, will now oversee an expanded territory from New England to Florida and will assume management of several key accounts, including Delta Air Lines and Coca-Cola.

Taking on leadership of the central region in North America, Julie Masino has been promoted to regional vice president. She brings a successful, 18-year track record in telecommunications sales. As an area vice president for the Midwest, Ms. Masino played a crucial role in securing contracts from Dorel, Nalco and Serta. She began her career at Schneider Communications, which was acquired by Frontier Corporation, and has significant sales management experience overseeing sales, engineering and service functions. Ms. Masino is based in Chicago, IL.

Global Crossing's other regional sales leaders will retain their roles. Kalyn Hove will continue in her position as vice president for collaboration services, and Alan Rosenberg will focus on partner development. Jose Luis Kruyff and Mike Cromwell will build upon their successes as regional vice presidents for Latin America and the western region of North America, respectively.
