TAMPA, Fla., and SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Fortress Technologies, the leader in wireless network security, and Foundry Networks (Nasdaq: FDRY - News), a performance and total solutions leader for end-to-end switching, routing and application Web switching, today announced a partnership that combines wireless security with high-performance wireless switching and networking to deliver an integrated network security solution for converged environments. The partnership combines Fortress' industry-leading network security system with Foundry's award-winning Ethernet switches and IronPoint wireless access points, delivering a comprehensive and enterprise-ready solution for secure networking.

Fortress and Foundry initiated this partnership in response to customer- driven demand for highly integrated and turn-key solutions comprised of best of breed products. The initiative includes an extensive array of system compatibility and interoperability testing, enabling customers to deploy a complete end-to-end solution from the edge to the core of their network. Their work has resulted in a comprehensive offering that has been tested, field proven, and deployed with some of the most demanding customers across the globe.

"This relationship between Fortress and Foundry is a definite advantage to our customers," said Jeff Sinclair, the vice president of sales at Pacific Star Communications. "Relying on their product suites as we do today, we can now more quickly deliver solutions that easily assimilate into our customers' networks. Their work together contributed to both company's products earning certification through the DoD Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP). DITSCAP establishes the standard DoD process for certifying and accrediting information systems. As a result of DITSCAP certification and Type Accreditation, any U.S. Army post has the option to deploy this turn-key solution that allows them to securely connect wireless users to the Army's IT backbone.

"Foundry recognizes that today's customers are searching for a best of breed, thoroughly tested, and completely integrated enterprise security solution. We are committed to providing the highest security assurance for our switch and wireless applications in order to address these needs," said Gary Hemminger, director of product marketing, Foundry Networks.
