Cox Deploys Sorrento

SAN DIEGO -- Sorrento Networks Corp. (Nasdaq:FIBR - news), a leading supplier of end-to-end, intelligent optical networking solutions, today announced that Cox Communications Inc., (NYSE:COX - news), a leading broadband cable operator, is deploying Sorrento's metro and regional optical networking equipment as part of an extensive program to construct its own nationwide high-speed optical network. Sorrento's GigaMux DWDM platform provides the scalability and flexibility we need."Sorrento is supplying GigaMux and EPC optical networking equipment as well as TeraManager, Sorrento's carrier class management system, for Cox's nationwide optical IP backbone network. Sorrento is in the second year of a four-year optical networking equipment supply agreement with Cox Communications.
