HICKORY, N.C. -- Corning Cable Systems and Siemens Dematic Electronics Assembly Systems today announced a new business agreement designed to provide the communications and electronics manufacturing industries with fusion splicing solutions for opto-electronics manufacturing and printed circuit (PC) board-level assembly. Under terms of the agreement, Corning Cable Systems, an industry-leading manufacturer of fiber optic and copper communications network infrastructure solutions, and Siemens Dematic, a global leader in the electronics manufacturing industry, will provide leading edge fusion splicing equipment. The companies also will collaborate toward the advancement of circuit board fiber splicing/management for PC board manufacturers and in the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) marketplace.
