HILVERSUM, The Netherlands -- Teleste and Essent Kabelcom have signed a Letter of Intent for the deployment of a next generation residential data access solution based on the new 100 Mb/s Ethernet to the Home technology (EttH).

This groundbreaking technology allows cable subscribers to use their existing cable connection, without the use of any active modem device in the home, to access Internet data with a symmetrical speed of 100 Mb/s.

This agreement is based on the successful co-operation between the parties in a technical trial with the forerunner of this 100 Mb/s EttH solution in the cable television network of Boxmeer (Netherlands) from Essent Kabelcom where 10 Mb/s connections were offered.
