MILAN -- ELLA Communications, part of the Adger Energi Group, a leading Norwegian power company, has pledged its commitment to working with world leading IP/Ethernet infrastructure company, Allied Telesyn to provide a Triple Play solution to its clients.

Ella is committed to offering its customers cost-effective fibre to the home (FTTH), and required a technology partnership to enable them to provide these services efficiently and cost-effectively.

Following an extensive review of the marketplace, it selected Allied Telesyn, based on the Company's strong Triple Play strategy and its practical, yet highly innovative IP/Ethernet solutions.

Ella has already purchased Allied Telesyn's Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) residential gateway, the RG-200 series, which enables it to deliver services directly to customer premises over fibre infrastructure. This has proved a great success with its customers and has provided easy, maintenance-free connectivity.

In the second phase of the project, Ella is evaluating Allied Telesyn's next-generation Residential Gateway 600 Series with the Telesyn 7000 Series, a family of video-optimized multiservice access platform DSLAMs for delivering IP/Ethernet services via DSL over copper infrastructure.

Commenting on the business relationship with Allied Telesyn, Per I. Setane, Technical Director at ELLA Communications said, "We wanted to work with a technically innovative communications manufacturer to offer our customers the potential to benefit from voice, interactive TV, video and data services delivered across one infrastructure.

"Advances in technologies have been outstanding over the past few years, and we believe that Triple Play will become a key offering to our customers. However, until now the cost of installing the intelligent CPE element has been prohibitively high. Now, using Allied Telesyn's new access components, we can maximise the bandwidth of our existing Ethernet networks and realize the full potential of broadband.

"Allied Telesyn has ensured that IP/Ethernet has now become a viable, cost-effective networking solution to enable us to offer these new Triple Play services."

Rami Houbby, European Business Development Director at Allied Telesyn International said, "ELLA Communications is one of the first Triple Play customers in Europe and we are delighted to be working with them to help develop their access network infrastructure and enhance their service offering".

"Triple Play is a very new, exciting, technology, and we are sure that they will reap the rewards for investing early. The ability to offer voice, video and data over a single connection, coupled with intelligent marketing will ensure that ELLA is amongst the most advanced service providers globally."
