Dowslake Microsystems acquires Rullingnet, which designs compact optical transport and access networking products

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Board of Directors of Dowslake Microsystems, a pioneer and provider of smart modules and sub-systems for system integrators, has approved the acquisition of Rullingnet Corporation Ltd , a Hong Kong based company specialized in designing compact optical transport and access networking products.
Following the acquisition, Dowslake will take full ownership of Rullingnet intellectual properties as well as inherit a talented team of 9 hardware, software and system designers. This acquisition creates synergy that will strengthen and enhance Dowslake’s capability in providing a wide range of optical networking solutions that combine advanced technology and cost effectiveness without compromise of performance and reliability.
The Rullingnet team will become Access Group of Dowslake R&D department, in parallel with Dowslake’s existing Transport Group. They will focus on accelerating the development of MiniSIS family of MTX access products which is a series of micro- MSPP (Multi-service Provisioning Platform) products that aggregate DS1/E1, DS3/E3, FE, GE, OC3/STM1 signals on to SONET/SDH networks. Dowslake MiniSIS MTX products support standard base management interface, with fully integrated cross-connect and GFP/VCAT/LCAS capability, all within a 1RU 19” chassis. With a data rate up to OC48/STM16, MiniSIS MTX products are best choices for metro access and enterprise applications in terms of cost, functionality and compactness.
