Dakota Central Picks Optibase

HERZLIYA, Israel -- Optibase, Ltd.(NASDAQ:OBAS) today announced that its carrier-grade TV streaming platform,the Media Gateway 5100, has been selected by Dakota CentralTelecommunications’ (DCT) subsidiary, DakTel Communications, to enable nextgeneration services to its subscribers in Jamestown, North Dakota.DCT provides traditional Cable TV to eight communities and operates awireless Multichannel-Multipoint Distribution Service (MMDS) video system inNorth Dakota. DCT, which plans to stream digital TV channels, Music channelsand High Definition channels, chose to utilize Optibase’s MGW 5100 Carriergrade streaming platform based on a recommendation by Martin Group, aleading engineering and consulting group in the area of telecommunications.Martin Group evaluated a variety of solutions in the market and recommendedOptibase because the MGW 5100 is an end-to-end solution, easily operatedwith low maintenance costs.

The initial Fiber To The Home (FTTH) project was spurred by DCT selectingMartin Group to prepare the complex application for a Rural Utility Service(RUS) Broadband Loan. Martin Group completed the final design and stakingprocess as well. “Martin Group delivered feasibility studies evaluatingtechnology alternatives and identified the right solution specifically forour business requirements,” said Keith Larson, general manager and CEO ofDCT. “In selecting Optibase’s MGW 5100, Martin Group met our needs in termsof time, cost, and expertise”.
