Intel selects Legerity's VoiceEdge voice ICs for converged application platform

AUSTIN, Texas -- Legerity, Inc., the "V" in VoIP!™, announced today that its highe performing VoiceEdge™ VE880 FXS and VE580 FXO voice solutions will be integrated into the Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) Converged Application Platform (CAP 24-120) reference design, delivering improved voice performance for enterprise market applications. This design provides a common scalable architecture that supports telephony, video and data services in a single, 1U rack-mountable platform.

Two voice mezzanine boards enabled by Legerity voice solutions will soon be available for the CAP 24-120 reference design. The first design is targeted at IP- Private Branch Exchange (PBX) applications and features an 8-channel FXO and a 2-channel FXS. The second design is a 24-channel FXS board for Service Provider Managed and Hosted broadband SMB and multi-tenant residential applications. Both designs, as well as the CAP 24-120 are complete reference designs to shorten customer design time and enable rapid time-to-market.

The IP-PBX voice-enabled mezzanine board and the Intel CAP reference design will be on display in Legerity’s booth (#229) at Spring 2007 VON in San Jose, CA, March 19-22.
