Ciena Sells Équipe Switch

ACTON, Mass. -- CIENA Corporation (NASDAQ: CIEN) and Équipe Communications Corporation announced today a worldwide Sales Agent and Reseller Agreement allowing CIENA to market, sell and support the Équipe 3200 (É3200) ATM/MPLS multiservice core switch into targeted Tier One service provider accounts. Under the agreement CIENA is to furnish first level 7x24 technical support for the Équipe 3200 via its worldwide network of technical assistance centers (TACs). “We expect our relationship with CIENA to create more sales opportunity for the É3200,” said Dennis Rainville, president and CEO, Équipe Communications. “With CIENA’s sales and support infrastructure combined with our leading technology, Équipe is well prepared to meet the needs of the world’s largest service providers.” “This deal extends the value we bring to our customer base by extending CIENA’s network solution offering to include Equipe’s product.
