Chordiant names two prominent executives to its board of directors

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Chordiant Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHRD), today announced that it has appointed two prominent executives, David Weymouth, Corporate Responsibility Director, Barclays Bank PLC, and Charles E. Hoffman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Covad Communications, to its Board of Directors.

"It has been a priority for us to recruit prominent executives from our two key vertical markets of financial services and telecommunications to the board of directors," said Sam Spadafora, Chairman of the Board. "We are delighted to have these distinguished executives join our Board of Directors and believe their business knowledge, perspective and experience in financial services and telecommunications will be an asset to the board."

David Weymouth has worked for the Barclays Group for more than 27 years, including executive roles in many fields of the group's operations. These roles have included the transformation of the group's business in Italy as Chief Operating Officer, the development and implementation of market-leading risk management practices and technology as Risk Management Director, and the foundation in the late 1990s of the group's successful Corporate Banking business.

From September 1999 until the end of 2004, as a member of the Group Executive Committee and Chief Information Officer, Mr. Weymouth has been responsible for technology and operations across the Barclays group, delivering a range of transformational change and infrastructure programs. Mr. Weymouth has recently taken on the role of Corporate Responsibility Director for the group worldwide.

Charles Hoffman brought to Covad more than 30 years of telecom and broadband experience in the wireless, cable, local and long-distance sectors. Since joining Covad in 2001, Mr. Hoffman has successfully transformed Covad into a leading nationwide provider of broadband voice and data communications. Prior to joining Covad, Mr. Hoffman was President and Chief Executive Officer of Rogers AT&T, Canada's largest national wireless service provider. Under his leadership, the company grew from fourth to first place in a market of four national wireless providers. He also successfully negotiated the sale of one-third interest in this publicly traded company (NYSE and TSE) to a partnership of AT&T and British Telecom. Before Rogers, Mr. Hoffman served as President, Northeast region, for Sprint PCS. He was responsible for operations in the largest region in the U.S. and successfully launched PCS wireless service in nine markets. Mr. Hoffman also spent 16 years at SBC Communications in various senior management positions, including Director General of Telcel, the national wireless carrier in Mexico.
