FREMONT, Calif. -- Centillium Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: CTLM), a leading provider of broadband access solutions, today announced the appointment of Jitesh Vadhia as Senior Vice President and General Manager.

“We are very pleased to add Jitesh to our executive team,” said Faraj Aalaei, Co-founder and CEO. “He has substantial experience managing international operations with significant revenue and P&L responsibility, as well as a deep understanding of marketing and engineering. Jitesh’s extensive management experience in the communications semiconductor industry will be invaluable to Centillium as we align our three business units, DSL, Optical and Voice-over-IP, under his leadership,” he said.

“Our Optical products are ready to enter our marketing and sales channels and our Voice-over-IP products have already started their revenue ramp. We believe that by aligning the Optical and Voice-over-IP units with our DSL business into a single organizational structure, we will create synergies and can better leverage our employee talent to design, develop and market our products more effectively. Bringing our businesses together under one roof will allow us to more efficiently share resources, sharpen our focus on execution and increase our marketing emphasis to better serve our customers,” said Aalaei.

Vadhia joins the company with more than 20 years of international experience in the semiconductor industry. Prior to joining Centillium, he was Senior Vice President and General Manager in the Network Access business unit at Zarlink Semiconductor Corporation and Product Line Director in the Analog Systems business unit at National Semiconductor Corporation. Vadhia also held various marketing roles at National Semiconductor Corporation. Previously, he was a Senior Design Engineer at Plessey Communications. Mr. Vadhia received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of London and his Master of Science degree in Electro Optics and Laser Technology from the University of Essex in England.
