Jupiter Telecommunications Selects Casa Systems; CCAP

ANDOVER, MA -- Casa Systems, a worldwide leader in next-generation cable edge technology, announced today that Jupiter Telecommunications (J:COM), Japan’s largest cable operator, has selected the company’s C100G CMTS solution to support their rollout of a new 320Mbps service that started in January 2015.
J:COM had been evaluating next generation CMTSs in response to competitive pressures in Japan where they needed to keep providing much faster, less expensive service offerings while delivering a superior quality of service. J:COM chose Casa Systems over its competitors because of the C100Gs superior channel density, its extensive track record in large Tier 1 MSO deployments and its ability to deliver higher speed Internet access through its support of DOCSIS 3.1.
SCSK, Co., ltd, is the distributor for Casa Systems and assisted in the sale of the C100G to J:COM. SCSK, led by CEO Nobuhide Nakaido, is headquartered in Koto-ku, Tokyo.
“We highly value Casa's architecture which makes it possible to utilize the latest technology in the market today and gives us a migration path to delivering next generation services without chassis upgrades, saving us capex and opex expenditures. The C100G’s ability to support both video and data made it the platform that completely conformed to the CCAP specification,” said Kazuhiko Masuda, Senior Corporate Officer, GM, Technology Unit of J:COM.
“J:COM is one of the great companies in Asia. They are visionary in their approach to technology and how technology will benefit not only their network and business operations but their customers experience as well,” said Jerry Guo, president and CEO of Casa Systems. “We are thrilled to be partners with SCSK and J:COM and are looking forward to supporting them as they move forward with their plans for the future.”
