Newroads Telecom has deployed Zhone’s Multi-Access Line Concentrator (MALC) and MetaSwitch’s Class 5 softswitch

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Zhone Technologies, Inc., the first company dedicated to building total-delivery solutions for voice, data and content services worldwide, and MetaSwitch, a leading provider of next generation switching solutions announced today that Newroads Telecom has selected and deployed Zhone’s Multi-Access Line Concentrator (MALC™) and MetaSwitch’s Class 5 Softswitch technology for its new service deployments.

Newroads has installed the MetaSwitch VP3510 at its own Fort Smith, Arkansas data center and is collocating Zhone’s MALC with 48 port ADSL2+ line cards and 32 port T1/ATM line cards as its broadband service platform over copper access lines from SBC Central Offices throughout its serving area.
