Alloptic Joins SandStream

LEWISVILLE, Texas, and LIVERMORE, Calif. -- SandStream Communications & Entertainment, a leading-edge technology carrier delivering next generation broadband services and Alloptic Inc, the leading provider of IP, Gigabit Ethernet fiber optic solutions for access networks announced today at a meeting of the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) Council that they have entered into a joint marketing initiative to address the growing demand for converged IP services and equipment in the rapidly emerging FTTH market. Under the initiative, the companies will jointly develop and market a complete FTTH solution for the delivery of IP video, data and voice over fiber optic access networks using Alloptic's Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) technology and SandStream's IP-centric, advanced communications infrastructure.
