LEWISVILLE, Texas, and LIVERMORE, Calif. -- SandStream Communications & Entertainment, a leading-edge technology carrier delivering next generation broadband services and Alloptic Inc, the leading provider of IP, Gigabit Ethernet fiber optic solutions for access networks announced today at a meeting of the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) Council that they have entered into a joint marketing initiative to address the growing demand for converged IP services and equipment in the rapidly emerging FTTH market. Under the initiative, the companies will jointly develop and market a complete FTTH solution for the delivery of IP video, data and voice over fiber optic access networks using Alloptic's Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) technology and SandStream's IP-centric, advanced communications infrastructure. "Our joint initiative with SandStream will focus on promoting high-bandwidth, cost-effective, fully converged IP services that effectively eliminate cost restraints and deployment limitations faced by service providers in delivering FTTH solutions," said Armando Pereira, president and CEO of Alloptic. "The joint solution marketed under this initiative will deliver rich content, transport, set top boxes, and system management, all over a future-proof, all fiber network. The economics of this solution enable both small and large service providers to incrementally scale their network in an extremely cost effective manner."Alloptic Inc.
