Verimatrix secures CDE Lightband IPTV service
April 21, 2009
LAS VEGAS -- Verimatrix, setting the standard in content security technologies that enhance the value of pay-TV networks, today announced Clarksville Department of Electricity (CDE) as its latest customer that has deployed the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS™) for IPTV. With its high-speed fiber to the home (FTTH), the CDE Lightband IPTV service features 200 channels of high-quality live broadcast combined with video-on-demand (VOD), along with 10Mbps Internet and telephony services. Verimatrix is highlighting the advantages of VCAS for IPTV at NAB 2009, booth #C1754.
As the municipal power provider for the city of Clarksville, CDE Lightband serves more than 58,000 metered homes and businesses with electric service and triple-play broadband services – IPTV, high-speed Internet and phone services.
According to Christy Batts, CDE Lightband vice president of Telecommunications, Verimatrix’s partnership with Minerva and other system components was a huge factor in the company’s decision. “Verimatrix came to us not only with a solid content security solution specifically geared to our needs, but also a strong integration partnership with our existing vendors. We were able to successfully work side by side to implement the system with no disruption to our subscribers,” Bates said. “Verimatrix provided the support we needed at a critical point in our deployment.”
