Terawave claims its software applications allow network designers to deploy PONs without investing in a team of optical specialists
July 31, 2000
HAYWARD, Calif. -- Terawave Communications today announced the PON Navigator (TM) suite, the first comprehensive set of PON network planning and management tools. The software applications allow network designers to easily engineer and deploy PONs without investing in a team of optical specialists. Using a provider's network and services specifications, the tools automatically calculate the amount of fiber required, the most appropriate equipment configuration, and the total network build-out cost. Guesswork and time consuming planning cycles are eliminated, since a network planner can now perform a one-time cost-benefit analysis.
"The PON Navigator tools eliminate the pain in designing a network," said Donald Stalter, vice president of Marketing and Business Development at Terawave. "These tools allow the service provider to focus on bringing service to the customer instead of spending time on complex engineering tasks."
