Packeteer Names Sales VP

Appoints Alan Leong as vice president of sales for the Asia/Pacific region

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Packeteer (NASDAQ: PKTR), the global leader in WAN Application Optimization, today announced the appointment of Alan Leong as the new vice president of sales for all countries in the Asia Pacific region. In this role Mr. Leong is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Packeteer’s APAC sales organization as well as the company’s continued growth and market leadership in this region.

“During his many years of experience in the computing and networking industry, Alan has never failed to drive significant growth in sales, open new territories and greatly improve his teams’ effectiveness at all the organizations of which he as been a part,” said Arturo Cazares, vice president of worldwide sales at Packeteer. “With Alan’s leadership in the APAC region, we expect continued dramatic growth in this vital market.”

Mr. Leong has 17 years of proven leadership in the IT industry combining an in-depth knowledge and expertise of both direct and indirect sales and organizational processes with Fortune 100 companies. Prior to joining Packeteer, Mr. Leong was the managing director and general manager for Computer Associates of China with responsibility for the company’s sales, operations and marketing organizations. Previously, he was Asia South Services Sales Director for Sun Microsystems where he maintained the region as the top three of 15 established markets at Sun. Mr. Leong has also served as Singapore Country Director for EMC where he expanded market coverage from a base of financial services to include manufacturing, telco, transportation and government industries.
