NEW ORLEANS - Hitron Technologies Americas Inc., is demonstrating CODA, the industry’s first Intel-based DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2015 this week at Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.
Utilizing Intel Puma 7 SoC, Hitron’s CODA will support download speeds up to 5 Gbps and upload speeds of one Gbps enabling cable operators to deploy next-generation, bandwidth-intensive applications and services to differentiate their service offerings and increase revenues. In addition to the increased network performance, the energy-efficient CODA will help reduce power usage and lower the cable operator’s carbon footprint.
Hitron CODA incorporates the Intel Puma 7 SoC, which is a dual-core Intel Atom processor. The DOCSIS 3.1 chip provides a variety of benefits including packet acceleration, support for third party 4x4 MIMO WiFi and voice recognition modules.
