RBOC and 3Com veteran Jerry Jalaba joins the company as senior vice president of worldwide sales

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- CoSine Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: COSN - News), a leading provider of managed, network-based IP Service Delivery Platforms for service providers, today announced the addition of Jerry Jalaba to its management team. Mr. Jalaba, who joins CoSine as senior vice president of worldwide sales, will lead CoSine's sales strategy, manage the company's global team of sales professionals and most importantly, drive the growth of CoSine's IP Service Delivery Platform business worldwide. Mr. Jalaba has over 23 years of experience in driving high-growth sales and growing international market opportunities for both the service provider and enterprise markets. Previously, he has sold to top tier Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs), PTTs and service providers from all over the world including AT&T, BT, Verizon, NTT, China Telecom and more. In addition, Mr. Jalaba's credentials include establishing, building and growing strategic channel partnerships with large global companies including Siemens, Ericsson, IBM and Fujitsu. Mr. Jalaba also brings to CoSine a solid track record for delivering high-volume sales for both large organizations and start-up ventures. At 3Com, he led the team responsible for bringing in over a billion dollars worth of business for the company. During his tenure at several venture-backed companies, Mr. Jalaba was responsible for building customer accounts from zero to over $30 million a year. "Jerry's proven success in selling to the world's largest carriers, including some of the RBOCs and PTTs, is just the experience we need to move CoSine to higher volume sales," said Steve Goggiano, CoSine's president and CEO. Prior to joining CoSine, Mr. Jalaba held senior sales and service management positions at start-ups such as Ramp Networks, Filanet and Vertical Networks where he established multiple successful demand creation programs and a solid sales pipeline. Before Vertical, he spent 5 years at 3Com Corporation where he served as vice president of worldwide sales operations and vice president of enterprise sales in North America. Prior to that, Mr. Jalaba spent 13 years at IBM where he held various sales, marketing and networking consulting positions.
