Brix Networks unveils latest version of free, VOIP quality testing portal

CHELMSFORD, Mass. -- Brix Networks (, the trusted provider of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) performance management and service assurance solutions, today announced Version 3.0 of, the company's free, voice quality testing portal that enables users to independently measure the quality of their broadband VoIP connections via a quick, self-initiated test call.

Available now at, Version 3.0 lets registered users take advantage of a new "Golden Phone" capability that allows them to call selected test points from either their mobile, Wi-Fi, traditional, or VoIP phones to measure VoIP quality. The hardware Verifiers at these locations are configured to answer calls just like a real phone and measure the quality of the conversation. This Golden Phone test feature is ideal for those who do not have broadband yet and existing VoIP users who want to see how well their VoIP phones are working.

Additionally, visitors to can now compare the performance of various broadband providers to determine which ones are currently offering the best VoIP quality to their customers.

Version 3.0 of also adds a number of other enhanced reporting features to the highly popular Web site that let registered users:

  • View the network path details of test calls to help troubleshoot and pinpoint the source of problems using Brix Networks' patent-pending VoIP Traceroute Analysis,

  • Observe real-time VoIP quality at a glance across the entire network via the colorful VoIP Weather Report, and

  • Save, view, and compare their personal test reports over time.

Also as part of Version 3.0, Brix has established a new test point in Sydney, Australia. This latest site joins other established testing locations in Boston, Helsinki, London, Montreal, and San Jose.
