10:05 AM -- PARIS -- Broadband World Forum Europe -- Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. confirmed here in Paris that it's claiming contract sales (NOT revenues) for the first half of the year were $15.7 billion, and that it's on course for $30 billion for the year.

Those numbers were first reported several weeks back, but weren't confirmed by Huawei at the time. (See Huawei Sales Stay on Track.)

The confirmation came as part of a media presentation here in Paris that centered around the launch of the vendor's SingleMetro concept, which involves the development of a common platform and range of applications (video storage, deep packet inspection, and so on) for the vendor's full range of metro aggregation and routing platforms, including the CX600 family of Ethernet switches.

The vendor also announced this week that Telefónica SA (NYSE: TEF) has deployed more than 100 CX600 units in Spain to support the operator's fixed and mobile data services. (See Telefónica Uses Huawei Gear.)
