Mobile electronics and cellular phone retail leader uses XO Communications' VPN service to connect 42 locations

SEATTLE -- XO Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:XOXO), one of the world's fastest growing providers of broadband communications services, today announced it has signed a series of contracts expected to be worth more than $1.5 million with Car Toys, a leading retailer of mobile electronics and wireless phones in the United States. Under the contract, XO is providing a complete array of integrated communications services, including local and long distance voice, dedicated Internet service and Virtual Private Network (VPN) service. Car Toys will use XO's recently enhanced VPN service to implement a secure, cost-effective means of communicating between its corporate headquarters, regional distribution center, training facility and 42 retail outlets over XO's Nationwide Internet backbone network."XO's suite of communications services allow us to deliver applications with increased bandwidth and security, both of which are crucial to our business," said Brad Daley, MIS Manager in Car Toys' corporate office in Seattle, Washington. "The XO VPN solution and other services are considerably more economical for Car Toys than the legacy application approach of installing point-to-point T-1 lines. We will now receive more reliable telecommunications services that is provided by a single carrier with one point of contact who is capable of delivering these services to multiple locations across four states."
