Transceiver Startup Launches

NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. -- Trimac Networks today announced its intention to develop and market integrated 10 and 40 Gb/s transceivers with up to ten components in a single module within the next year. Trimac is merging high-speed optical and microwave technologies to create transceivers that are more manufacturable, deliver greater functionality in smaller packages at vastly reduced costs, speeding development and deployment of 40Gb/s networks. "Our team of optical and microwave specialists has developed a brand new highly-scalable manufacturing process that can deliver the cost-effective integrated transceivers equipment vendors and service providers require," says Nisa Khan PhD, president of Trimac Networks. "Their work will speed the rollout of ever-faster data rates while also reducing the real estate needed to house these devices and to deliver increased functionality."
