Purchase of DAX's intellectual property extends Telcordia's wireless strategy and portfolio offerings
December 9, 2003
PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- TelcordiaR Technologies, Inc., a global provider of telecommunications software and services, today announced it has acquired intellectual property from DAX Technologies Corp., further extending Telcordia's wireless strategy and newly announced Elementive* portfolio offerings. The technology acquisition coupled with Telcordia's own software will create two new products for wireless carriers within Telcordia's Mobile Assurance Portfolio: Telcordia Network Vision and Telcordia Performance Vision. Joined with Telcordia Service Director, Telcordia's wireless solutions provide carriers with a unified view of the entire wireless network and the services operating on it, regardless of multiple vendor or technology platforms. By improving network performance and service quality, carriers can reduce subscriber churn and increase market share.
"The acquisition of the technology from DAX, marks a key step in extending Telcordia's open and scalable wireless offerings that carriers require in their networks today," said Terry Vega, Group President, Wireless, Cable & Emerging Markets, Telcordia. "With our comprehensive software solution, operators can identify and forecast their network capacity; automate network performance monitoring and reporting; increase visibility and control of wireless network elements; and fully manage network services -- reducing capital investments and increasing profits."
"With the DAX Optima Performance platform, Telcordia has acquired a leading suite of fault and performance management software capabilities for Radio Access Networks," said Dragos Alexe, President, DAX Technologies. "With a unified view of the network, Telcordia software will be able to help the operator respond more quickly to network faults and degradations before they become major customer challenges and result in lost revenue and churn."
Telcordia's Mobile Assurance Portfolio is now comprised of three products: Service Director, Network Vision and Network Performance. This wireless software increases the opportunity for carriers to attract business data customers due to faster, more comprehensive service offers and service level agreement (SLA) capabilities; allows a more efficient use of resources; increases customer satisfaction through fast trouble response; reduces data redundancies; and offers greater revenue-generating opportunities with the ability to manage an expanding set of new services at low cost.
