SFR, Neuf Talk M&A

French triple play operator Neuf Cegetel Group (Euronext: NEUF) has suspended trading of its shares while its two main shareholders, the Louis Dreyfus group and mobile operator SFR , hold "discussions."

Merging Neuf, which has more than 3 million broadband customers, with SFR, which has more than 18 million mobile customers (including 3.5 million 3G subscribers), would create a significant rival for French incumbent Orange (NYSE: FTE).
