Santec introduces a component, which it ideosyncratically calls an optical variable attenuator (OVA), with an integrated tap module
November 15, 2002
KOMAKI, Japan -- Santec is always looking for innovative design improvements to add functionalities to our current range of products. Designed for system integration the OVA-650-T is a compact variable optical attenuator that has a tap photodiode integrated into its hermetically sealed packaging. Our OVA-650-T unit has the high resolution, low insertion loss, low PDL, signal monitoring capability and guarantee to withstand 200mW optical input power. Photodiodes may be integrated either before or after the attenuator, or on both sides for full performance monitoring. Also the additional function of the optical shutter is available as an option.
