Based on PacketLight's patent-pendingtechnology and architecture, the system can combine data, voice, storage andvideo, supporting TDM, ATM, IP, SAN and all optical signals within a single,all-packet fabric, controlled by MPLS with a high level of DWDM integration. "We are just beginning to see a new generation of MPLS-based systemsthat integrate multiple traffic collection approaches, including SONET/SDHand GigE, onto a DWDM infrastructure," said Tracey Vanik, technical directorat RHK, a leading market research firm for the telecommunications industry, specializing in the analysis of advanced network technologies. "UtilizingMPLS labels to identify the destination of each flow provides a potentiallysimpler and more efficient approach to engineering metropolitan lambda basednetworks."PacketLight Networks
