Notification under sections 198 to 208 of the Companies Act 1985 (as amended) (the 'Act').

On 10 December 2001 the Company received notification dated 10 December 2001 that Morgan Stanley Securities Limited, a member of the Morgan Stanley group of companies, and its direct or indirect holding companies acquired on 7 December 2001 an interest in the shares of the Company that resulted in a holding of a total of 95,729,946 ordinary shares, being 3.43% of the issued share capital of the Company. Of these interests 94,333,178 were of a kind described in s208(5) of the Act.
