JENA, Germany -- Deutsche Effecten-und Wechsel-Beteiligungs-gesellschaft AG (DEWB), the corporate venture capital subsidiary of Jenoptik, announced second round funding of Jena-based unique-m.o.d.e AG

Uniquemode is a spinoff of the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Research, which still holds 5 percent of the shares.

The company specializes in the miniaturizing of high performance diode laser systems. The newly developed microoptical system provides for a better quality of laser diodes and used in a variety of applications, including telecommunications networks. unique-m.o.d.e. has the patent for the combination of this new micro optics with laserdiodes.
