Brain Jervis, ex Newbridge, takes over from founder Mike Rowan

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif -- Kestrel Solutions, a provider of optical networking solutions for metropolitan markets, is pleased to announce its intent to appoint Brian Jervis to the position of Chief Executive Officer and Director of Kestrel Solutions, effective as soon as US/Canadian immigration approvals are completed. Brian has been Kestrel's Chief Operating Officer since May of this year. Appointed Founder and Senior Vice President, Mike Rowan will focus on technology strategy issues including developing advancements in Kestrel's Optical Frequency Division Multiplexing technology.
Speaking for the Board of Directors, Kestrel Solutions Chairman Mel Gafner states, "In the past year Kestrel has tripled in size, currently employing nearly 300 people. Brian's contributions in a short period of time have been remarkable, and we look forward to his strong leadership and operational experience to help Kestrel continue its growth and realize its potential."
Prior to joining Kestrel, Brian was Executive Vice President of the Switching Products Group for Newbridge Networks, with global responsibility for their core ATM and TDM switching products. Before that, Brian spent twenty years at Nortel, where he held a number of senior management positions including Group Vice President & General Manager of Multi-Media Networks and Group Vice President, Switching Networks in Bell Northern Research.
