Intel invests in WaveSplitter Technologies

FREMONT, CA--WaveSplitter Technologies, Inc. yesterday announced that Intel Capital has become an equity investor in WaveSplitter, a leading innovator and supplier of critical components used in optical amplifier and DWDM systems for long-haul and metropolitan area optical networks.
WaveSplitter will use the investment to help expand its product and technology portfolio, as well as to help fund the company’s current development and manufacturing of dense wavelength division multiplexers (DWDMs), pump laser combiners, and other optical network components. Specifically, this investment will allow WaveSplitter to accelerate their development and introduction of silica-on-silicon planar waveguide components.
