WARSAW -- Cubiware Sp. z. o. o. today announced that Value Added Reseller (VAR) and integrator HFC Technics, Ltd. has signed deals with four Hungarian cable operators, Invitel Plc., PR-TELECOM Plc., TARR Ltd., and Vidanet Plc. These deals involve deployment of hybrid DVB-C/IP set-top boxes (STBs) from Intek Digital running CubiTV Client Component Module to provide subscribers with a future-proof, high-quality user experience. Initial offerings from the cable companies will include linear TV and personal video recorder (PVR) capabilities, with video on demand (VOD) planned for later rollout. The latest HFC Technics deals highlight the success of the Cubiware-HFC Technics collaboration, which now provides Cubiware-enabled STB solutions to four of Hungary’s six major cable operators. For the last three years, HFC Technics has been Cubiware’s VAR for the markets of Hungary, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Macedonia. The company offers CubiTV hybrid DVB/IP and IPTV middleware to operators in either of two models, hosted or owned. The hosted model uses an interactive head-end that is built and managed by HFC, while in the owned model the HFC-built head-end is owned by the operator. Both approaches use a CubiTV STB client, and both involve local technical support provided by HFC."HFC is a great example of the kind of top-quality VAR/integrator that we’ve been fortunate enough to partner with in a number of regional and national markets," says Jakub Górski, CEO of Cubiware. "We provide the ease of use, reliability, and attractive interface that have made CubiTV so popular, and our VARs combine our winning technology with their local knowledge and proximity to customers. It’s proven to be a very successful combination, with already more than ten partners worldwide. We look forward to expanding that number by entering into additional relationships with third-party resellers this year."HFC Technics
