BellSouth Picks Westell DSL Modems

BellSouth announces agreement with Westell to provide USB/Ethernet dual-port DSL modems in its FastAccess DSL self-install kit

ATLANTA and AURORA, Ill. -- BellSouth Corporation (NYSE:BLS - News) and Westell Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: WSTL - News), a leading provider of broadband access solutions, announced today that BellSouth has selected Westell as a provider of DSL Dual Port modems for BellSouth® FastAccess® DSL customers.Under the terms of the agreement, Westell will supply BellSouth with its WireSpeed(TM) Dual Connect ADSL Modems, which are assembled in Westell's U.S. factory located in Aurora, IL. The addition of the Westell WireSpeed modem to the BellSouth FastAccess DSL installation kit marks a continued commitment by BellSouth to offer its customers a simple self-install experience."95 percent of our new customers opt to self-install, so it is important for us to use a modem that allows the flexibility and simplicity of the Westell WireSpeed Modem," said Scott C.
