6:35 AM -- Here's a cautionary tale regarding customer expectation management...
Reuters reports that angry shoppers pelted Apple's flagship store in Beijing with eggs and engaged in scuffles with police after they were told the iPhone 4S would not be sold at the shop on Jan. 13, as had been advertized.
After some had queued all night, shoppers were told early in the morning that the iPhone 4S would not be available and that they should go home. Bad move...
Even more annoyingly for those involved in the fracas, the coveted device was available in other Beijing shops and in Shanghai and quickly sold out.
What I want to know is ... how come someone had eggs to hand?
