Allied Telesyn appoints Todd Chipman as senior vice president of marketing

BOTHELL, Wash. -- Allied Telesyn, a global leader in Ethernet networking solutions for the access edge, today announced the appointment of Todd Chipman to senior vice president of marketing. Chipman will be based in Silicon Valley, CA.
Chipman brings over fourteen years of progressive management experience in marketing, development, and consulting to Allied Telesyn. As senior vice president of marketing, Chipman will oversee the strategic direction and execution of corporate marketing initiatives, including brand management, marketing communications, market research, product & solutions marketing, and field-based demand generation programs.

Before joining Allied Telesyn, Chipman held executive-level positions at a number of Fortune 500 and start-up companies including chief marketing officer at Tiqit, vice president of product management at CenterBeam, and director of marketing at Novell for the network/system management product lines. In addition, Chipman served as vice president and research leader at Giga Information Group, where he was named one of the top-two industry analysts in the world by Internetweek. Chipman began his career as a software developer at Tandem Computers. He later co-founded TRIicon Solutions, where he helped create the first PC-based mainframe management platform. TRIicon Solutions was then acquired by Tandem Computers.
