A Giant Parade

5:00 PM -- Just to give you an idea of how many people crammed into lower Manhattan yesterday to honor the Super Bowl champions the New York Giants, take a look at this photo of the view from our New York offices.

2483.jpgThis picture was taken at around 11:45 a.m. - in other words, right in the middle of the time allotted for the parade. The street jammed with people is Church Street which is a block west of Broadway -- the street the parade actually took place on. On top of that, the portion of Church Street seen in this picture is north of City Hall -- the northern terminus of the parade.

If there were this many people jammed in the streets in a location that wasn't even that close to what they'd come to see, one can only imagine the mob scene along the actual parade route. If I were a Giants fan, I'd have sneaked out of work to find out myself. But since I'm a Jets fan, I'll never know firsthand what a Super Bowl parade in New York City looks like up close.
