PETAH TIKVA, Israel -- ECI Telecom, a global provider of networking infrastructure solutions optimized for next-generation network (NGN) migration, today announced that Togo Telecom, the incumbent fixed line operator in Togo, Africa, has selected ECI to deliver an end-to-end turnkey solution for a new high-speed IP network in the country. This turnkey project will deliver one of the first fiber-to-the-curb (FTTC) networks in the region, providing residential and business customers with high-speed Internet access and VoIP services.

With national fixed-line broadband penetration still in the single digits, the added capacity allows Togo Telecom to alleviate the growing demand for bandwidth-intensive services in the country.

“We were highly impressed with ECI’s ability to provide an end-to-end turnkey solution that allows us to deliver to our customers the very best in high-bandwidth services. ECI was able to understand our unique needs and deliver an optimal solution in the deployment of our new IP wireline network. The company's offerings possess technological edge and support a full range of applications and protocols over a single, cost-effective platform, allowing us to address our broadband service needs today, and well into the future,” said Mr. Petchetibadi BIKASSAM, General Director of Togo Telecom.

ECI is fully managing and executing the project, including the network audit, planning and design of the FTTC solution, sites survey, installation and commissioning, network integration and solution optimization. The flexible infrastructure platform will allow Togo Telecom to scale up its network to provide higher bandwidth services in the future, including IPTV.

"This project is a strong validation of our 1Net offering, combining our end-to-end professional services capabilities with our award-winning platforms. It allows Togo Telecom to focus on their core business of delivering market leading services to customers, without the additional burden to their day-to-day operations," commented Itzhak Ronen, Corporate Vice President, Middle East and Africa, of ECI Telecom.

ECI is currently implementing the first phase of the three-phase project, deploying its XDM® 1000 Multi-Service Provisioning Platform (MSPP) across the network, and installing its award-winning Hi-FOCuS™ Multi Service Access Node (MSAN) platforms in over 300 street cabinets nationwide.

A leader in many emerging markets, ECI has a long track record in Africa servicing some of the region's most prominent operators, with dedicated local sales and support offices in Togo and South Africa.
